The System menu area contains many of the utility functions used to initialize and maintain your system.
In this section you will find routines such as Backup Data, Close End of Day, Retention, and License Registration.
Most of the System menu is used by the system administrator, rather than by normal users.
The Re-index Files option re-creates indexes for your data files. These data files are used by the system to determine the sort order in which records are processed; re-indexing them increases the speed at which the data is located.
The Backup Data option allows users to make a complete copy of their Net•Yield databases. Backup copies are used by the Net•Yield support department to restore user data in the event of a server crash or other network-related issue. It is also used to investigate any data integrity issues that the system may identify during the Complete Analysis data integrities.
The Close End of Day (EOD) process performs routine system maintenance and enables the user to run specific functions and generate specific reports as a batch process.
The Print End of Day option allows users to print any or all of the Close End of Day (EOD) reports that were created.
The Copy Invoices to History feature copies invoice history information used by Custom Margin Report Formatting and Custom Margin Reports.
The Change utility options provide a way to make changes to information on various transactions or items that would otherwise be unable to be changed elsewhere in the system.
The Retention functions remove transactions from numerous files based on the number of retention periods established in Retention Options.
The Import Tables, Export Tables, Load Inventory, Load Payables, and Load Receivables options allow users to enter information from existing systems into Net•Yield. Other options, like Business Models and Customize Menu, give users the ability to uniquely configure their systems.
System Options are used to enter information needed by Net•Yield to interface with your SMTP email provider.
The Support options assist the Net•Yield support department in identifying and solving problems which may occur within your system.
